Reading at Night
Top Tips for Reading at Night💡
1. Reading light is best when it comes from directly over your shoulder and onto the book.
2. If you are right handed, your reading light should be directed over your left shoulder and vice versa for those who are left handed.
3. If you can’t direct light from over the shoulder, try sit in an area where there are no shadows over the book – this will help prevent eye strain.
4. It is recommended, when reading at night, you have a warm main light and a separate bright reading light – preferably with an adjustable arm to direct the light where you need it.
In general, be mindful of where you’re reading and the lighting available.
If you find yourself developing symptoms, such as headaches, take a look at your surroundings and see if there’s anything you could be doing to support your eyes.
If symptoms persist, book a Sight Test and have your eyes examined by one of our professionals.
